01
The Challenge
How do you tell a story about violence with the sensitivity it requires?
Violence against children remains one of the most widespread and underreported global health issues, with many survivors never speaking publicly about their experiences or accessing support services.
The project required a thoughtful and sensitive storytelling approach capable of addressing deeply personal subject matter while helping raise awareness around prevention, intervention, and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding violence.

02
The Approach
First-person testimonies, told in survivors’ own words.
Motion Narrative collaborated with an international team of filmmakers on a documentary initiative developed in partnership with the World Health Organization. Through first-person testimonies and emotionally grounded interviews, the film created space for survivors to share their experiences in their own words — highlighting the long-term physical, emotional, and psychological impacts of violence across different social and cultural contexts.
The documentary combined long-form storytelling with shorter educational and social media versions designed to broaden accessibility and public engagement.

03
The Impact
Survivor voices, in service of prevention, education, and healing.
The project helped support global awareness efforts by using authentic human stories to communicate the realities and consequences of violence in a clear and emotionally resonant way.
By centring survivor voices and emphasizing the importance of speaking openly about violence, the documentary contributed to broader public health communication initiatives focused on prevention, education, and healing.
